How do participants join their scheduled CoP session?
Live CoP sessions are held virtually using Zoom. Participants (Instructional School Leaders, Coaches, and Teachers) access their scheduled CoP through their TEALearn CRIMSI course following the outlined steps.
Need to know when a participant’s scheduled Community of Practice (CoP) sessions are? Refer to the CoP Lookup Tool FAQ for guidance.
Step 1: Accept CoP Invitation (One Time Only)
CRIMSI invites participants to join a section within their TEALearn CRIMSI course. Participants' sections align with their assigned CoP cohort with specific CoP dates/times.
Participants must accept the invitation via their TEALearn dashboard or by email to join CoPs through TEALearn. Refer to the following screenshots for examples of how the invitation on the dashboard and via email appears.
⚠️ Important: If participants decline the invitation on the day of their first CoP, CRIMSI may be unable to resend the invitation before the scheduled session. If this circumstance arises, participants may reach out to crimsi@tntp.org for support and may be asked to attend a make-up session.
Step 2: Accessing CoP Using Course Calendar (For Each Scheduled CoP)
After logging into TEALearn and navigating to the CRIMSI course, participants can locate and click the “View Course Calendar” button.
Find the session date on the calendar. The calendar view defaults to the current month, so it will be on the screen without changing the month.
Bonus: Having the CoP on the course calendar allows ample planning time, as CoP sessions must be attended live. Look ahead by changing the month with the right arrow near the “Month Year” text (example: August 2023).
Now, click on the CoP assignment to open a pop-up with details.
Finally, click on the link to join. This will put a participant in the CoP session waiting room within Zoom; please be patient while waiting for a facilitator to allow entry. Do not share this Zoom link with coworkers, as they may be in a different cohort and must attend their assigned session.
As a reminder, facilitators will not admit participants who attempt to join more than 15 minutes after the scheduled start time.
