Can a participant that has already completed the pilot participate again?
Teachers may not repeat the pilot for a product they have already participated in a full-year pilot through CRIMSI. CRIMSI is designed to provide foundational learning for the early implementation of high-quality instructional materials (HQIM). This initiative also offers stipends to first-time teacher participants as an incentive for active engagement and data contributions.
While we would like to offer financial incentives to anyone implementing a CRIMSI product, funding stipulations only allow stipends to be provided to first-time teacher participants for each product.
To be eligible, teachers must be piloting a new product during the 2023-24 school year. To afford this opportunity to as many teachers as possible, those who completed Eureka Math K-5, Amplify K-2, or Amplify 3-5 in any past CRIMSI pilot cannot re-pilot the same product. If a participant has only piloted in a spring or summer CRIMSI pilot, they may participate again with the same pilot. Coaches are not restricted from coaching any product again in 2023-24 if they completed a past CRIMSI pilot.
Options for Participants That Do Not Qualify to Participate
The following options are available to the individuals in the circumstances outlined:
- Individuals can obtain observer access to TEALearn CRIMSI courses through the TEALearn Hub
- Individuals may attend Communities of Practice (CoPs) as an observer instead of a student
- Individuals who are teacher leaders and can fulfill coaching requirements may participate in CRIMSI as a coach. These individuals must have the capacity to lead teachers in protocols, observe instruction, and provide feedback. As a coach, they will qualify for the coach’s stipend.
As an observer in TEALearn courses, repeat participants maintain access to introductory product and protocol resources to reinforce instructional delivery while being excluded from course requirements and stipend eligibility. As an observer in a CoP, repeat participants can engage with other educators in similar roles to enhance their HQIM implementation without attendance requirements.
