What is the tentative timeline for the 2023-24 school year?
Orientation and Onboarding occur from March 2023 through July 2023, though registration officially closes on October 31. The school year is divided into four quarters as follows:
- Quarter 1 – August 2023-October 2023
- Quarter 2 – November 2023-January 2024
- Quarter 3 – February 2024-April 2024
- Quarter 4 – May and June 2024
The following graphic illustrates pilot phases by month. Then, the phases are defined after the graphic so leaders, coaches, and teachers know what to expect during each phase.
Registration, Kick-Off, and Orientation
- Attend 60-min live virtual kick-off for Initiative Leads
- Attend 90-min live virtual orientation for Initiative Leads and School Leaders
- Submit a readiness assessment survey
- Attend 45-minute initial consultation with CRIMSI Advisor
- Provide registration information for individual leaders including contact information

- Attend 90-min live virtual orientation for Initiative Leads and School Leaders

Pre-Implementation Planning
Initiative Leads and School Leaders will…
- Submit Pre-Implementation Survey
- Receive differentiated supports on district- and campus-level barriers and enablers to implementation based on readiness assessment
- * School Leaders and Instructional School Leaders Only: Attend 60-minute live virtual product introduction
- Attend (3) 90-minute live virtual onboarding sessions focused on district- and campus-level systems and change management in the areas of stakeholder engagement, teacher practice, and student outcomes (April-May)
- Repeat onboarding sessions for leaders hired during the summer of 2023 will be offered in July.
Consultations
Initiative Leads will…
- Attend 3 required 45-minute 1:1 consultations with their CRIMSI Advisor:
- Initial consultation (April-May)
- Launch consultation (September)
- Mid-year consultation (November-December) (Additional consultations may be required based on the district’s progress in the pilot)
- (Optional) Sign up for additional flex consultations to receive additional 1:1 support

Progress Monitoring Meetings, Problem of Practice, End of Year
Leaders (Initiative Leads and School Leaders) will…
- Attend (4) 60-minute live virtual sessions focused on progress monitoring and cycles of continuous improvement
- (Optional) Attend (5) Problem of Practice sessions focused on barriers and challenges associated with implementing change (August, October, December, January)
- Attend the End of Year Symposium to explore the perspective, successes, and experiences of fellow leaders in Texas who engaged in the CRIMSI pilot (May).
Onboarding
Coaches will…
- Attend a 60-minute live virtual pilot orientation (April)
- Attend a 60-minute live virtual product introduction (May-August)
- Attend (4) 60-minute live virtual onboarding sessions, including internalization of Unit/Module 1 and Lesson 1+ (May or July)

- Attend (4) 90-minute onboarding sessions, including internalization of Unit/Module 1 and Lesson 1+. District leadership will opt into one of 3 options for teacher sessions:
- Option 1: TNTP facilitated live virtual sessions in July/August
- Option 2: Live in-person sessions facilitated by LEA leaders and coaches to redeliver sessions using CRIMSI Facilitation Guides (LEAs choose the timing to redeliver this content onsite)
- Option 3: Asynchronous modules through TEALearn

- Complete (6) 90-minute asynchronous modules and submit exit tickets
- Attend (6) 60-minute live virtual Communities of Practice (CoP) in small groups of ~15 coaches to apply learning. Multiple dates and times will be available for each CoP
- (Optional) Complete additional asynchronous modules on other topics
